Snapped a quick shot of Ava while we were leaving the movie theater (we saw Happy Feet Two). We both ordered a cookie dough blizzard from Dairy Queen on the way home and chatted about school, work, life…….and the upcoming spring soccer season where I get to coach her team again. I love Ava!

Walk with Mom, Marla and the girls

My Mom (in the red sweatshirt) came down early this morning to watch the girls, so Marla could come back to the hospital and stay with me. I ended up getting checked out around 1pm today, so we all ate some lunch when we got home and then went on a walk for a bit at Inniswood Metro Gardens. It was 60 degress today! Very crazy that it’s that warm on the last day of January!

I was having some chest pains from a rough cough this weekend, went into Urgent care to get checked at 7:15pm. Even though they were fairly certain it had no relation to my heart attack in October, they had to (understandably) send me over to St. Ann’s hospital and get blood work done. We were in the ER waiting room from 8:15pm – 12:15am, and didn’t get into a room and get blood work finished until around 3:00am. Rough night for both Marla and I, but thankfully I am doing just fine. Shot this just after getting checked into the room

I taught Nina to tie her shoes today

For some reason Nina (our youngest daughter) asked like five times on the way from a church outreach event at a YWCA if Marla could teach her how to tie her shoes. Marla’s a bit under the weather, and it sounded like something that I could jump in and handle. I was excited to see Nina’s smile! She was thrilled to learn, and within 15 minutes she had it down…..and even a double knot on both shoes. Thankful I got to do that with her!

One of the ends of Ava’s temporary brace on her teeth came loose tonight just at the end of our church small group at our house, and Doctor Devese met us at the office at 9:30pm to help her. That man is amazing!

Four new Kindles for Marla and the girls

Thanks to my brother-in-law Stewart, we earned $500 worth of points with Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards and traded them in for Amazon gift card credits. Marla happens to be an author, but also an avid reader….and the girls love to read quite a bit! It was pretty obvious that we would get free Amazon Kindles (Kindle Touch for Marla and Kindle 4 for the girls) with the credits.

Ava after her dentist helped move her teeth closer to being in place

Ava was brave today, and the dentist spent 90 minutes (with the help of a few doses of novocaine) moving two of her top front teeth back into place after yesterday’s trampoline/knee accident. We’re very thankful, and praying that another visit next week helps even more. She sure is beautiful, and makes me smile!

We got a call from my Mom this evening, where our girls were celebrating one of my niece’s birthdays at a gym/trampoline place. Ava (our middle daughter) jammed two of her front teeth into her knee (pushing them way out of place) and one of her baby teeth beside those fell out. Thankfully she had some family there to love her. It will take some work for the dentist to help, but we’re praying for the best!
