Shot another buck with my phone

Marla and I went on a 4 mile walk while the girls are away. We saw a doe and two little ones a few minutes before seeing this buck. We were able to get within 15 feet of them. I wish I would have carried the D7000, but wanted to walk without carrying much weight.

Brought the camera to the car with me this morning, decided to snap a few macros of some snow before the heat melted it off of the windshield. Snow is an amazing, beautiful thing…..but I’m not quite ready to appreciate winter after being in warm Cambodia for five weeks, LOL.

Snapped this shot from the plane on our flight from Seoul, Korea to Chicago, Illinois (on our way back to Columbus, Ohio from Phnom Penh, Cambodia). Luckily we landed in Chicago today! There were over 400 flights cancelled there yesterday. There were planes landing and taking off every 30 seconds it seemed like.

Lin Ping – Panda at Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand

We had a VERY full day today, celebrating our youngest daughter’s (Nina) sixth birthday. Started the day out by visiting the Chiang Mai Zoo here in Thailand, feeding hippos, baby elephants, jaguars, and seeing three pandas. Lin Ping (panda pictured) was born at the zoo here in Chiang Mai over two years ago. A bit rare, since most pandas are born in China and sent to other zoos around the globe.

Along the Mekong River

We took the kids from the orphanage on a 1 hour boat ride (rented entire boat for maybe 40 people for $20) down the Mekong River today. Had lots of fun, but I realized on our way there that I forgot my telephoto lens. Glad the driver drove us close enough to the bank get some decent shots.

Christmas at Creekside is flooded

Was meeting with my friend Jeremy for lunch in Gahanna today. Typically there are a few folks out walking along the creek, but I was shocked to see the water a few feet above where it normally is. Also shocked these little Christmas buildings weren’t floating away.
