Marla was out of town for the weekend, so I took the girls up to visit their cousins (my brother’s kids). My brother (Tug) and I stopped by the local high school football game, something I haven’t done in I don’t know how long. Snapped this shot in the second half with my phone .Was a pretty interesting game between Shawnee and Wapakoneta. Great weather!

Went to the Columbus Crew vs. LA Galaxy game tonight. David Beckham is apparently getting too old for soccer, missing the last four games LA has had here in Columbus. At least Landon Donovan (pictured) showed up, even though he only played the last 30 minutes or so of the game. Columbus lost on a lame rebound shot with two minutes to go. Great weather and fun time!

Kasey Kahne at Prelude to the Dream

My brother called me yesterday and let me know he had free pit passes to the Prelude to the Dream (charity race where NASCAR drivers come to Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway) today. I took a 1/2 day off and drove west 2 hours to rub shoulders with Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne (pictured here) and a slew of other top drivers. I saw Kasey watching others practicing from atop his hauler, and decided it would be the shot out of the 600+ taken to make it onto the site today. I’ve been to the race for 5-6 years, but this was my first chance to get into the infield and not be snapping photos through the fence. And you can’t beat free!

Wrote a blog post today (and had a fairly interesting discussion with my wife) about all that’s going on with Coach Jim Tressel here in Columbus. I still believe he’s a winner, and will pray that God teaches Him through all of this and continues to impact others through him.

Played in our church basketball league today, and took a dive for the ball. My shin ended up looking like this. I might try to just stay on my feet next time. It’s not like we’re getting paid to play……we’re actually paying TO PLAY.

Got some new shoes today in the mail from FinishLine.com – size 13 Puma Cell Sorai running shoes. I’ve never ordered shoes online before, but it was nice to be able to try them on in the store, find a better deal on their website, and also have the luxury of being able to return them to the store if they ended up not working out. But they did, LOL.

We’re going to be having Spazzmonkey design a sweet 3D sign for our lobby at 104.9 the River, so we stopped by the Columbus Blue Jackets store / arena today to see an example of their work. Pretty sweet!
