Firefighters who saved my life
We joined some friends from church in visiting the local fire station, the same station who dispatched the ambulance and firetruck (to escort my wife and a friend) the night that we dialed 911 while I was having a heart attack at our church’s event on 10/29/11. Luckily, the two men that were in the ambulance with me that night (giving me IV’s and an EKG) and saved my life, were both on duty. They are on 24 hours straight, then off 48 hours. I can’t really explain what it’s like to return and meet the guys who helped save your life. Extremely thankful, and proud of these guys from Engine 24!

I bet for them, this is in a day’s work. But for the people they save, as you said, they are extremely grateful for their commitment.
