Full bag of chipsWe opened up a bag of kettle cooked Mesquite chips from Shearer’s tonight, not shocked to find that 2/3 of the chips were missing! What’s with chip companies these days, filling bags 2/3 the way full……of AIR?!?!?! They won I guess. You can’t take chips back can you? They did just receive an email, letting them know I am advertising their bags of AIR for free. What a deal!

    Love the picture.

A note to discuss: Chips and cereal have always had this issue. The general concensus is that it’s due to “settling” – when the machine dumps product in the bag, it fills to capacity, then the cereal or chips settle together during shipping and placement.

But do they use this to their advantage? Even so, you do get the weight of the product listed on the bag. Or they’re breaking the law. (How comforting a law is needed.)

Meh, I forgot to fix “consensus.”

If they’re smart they’ll send you coupons for free chips.

I love this one too! I’m not sure if it’s the warm golden color, or if the sight of chips just brings me joy… either way. Love it!
