It appears the shutter on my Nikon D50 (what I’ve used for every photo except for one this year) has gone bad. So this evening I was running a few errands, and we made a stop at a local graveyard and captured the memory with my iPhone 3G’s camera. I’ll be taking the D50 to the shop to see how much the damage would be, but I think I’ll be buying Marla her own Nikon lower-end camera before we go to Cambodia in a month while I save up for my next camera upgrade. Waiting to see what camera Nikon is going to be releasing that will replace / update the D90.

Gabe, look at the d300s…I’ve been saving up for a year and finally had enough to get one…you’ll never go back!
You haven’t HAD that D50 that long have you? Let me know about ur Nikon, as mine’s only about a year old…
I LOVE this symbolic shot! Perfect. And the iphone quality ain’t bad.
I twitpic-d one I put up this evening of my lilac tree. Did ya see it? Blooms and Bees.
I’m so sad.
Have had the camera since early 2007. From what I’ve heard, I should probably have expected this after having taken 75,000 photos with it since then.
Should’ve bought a Canon. I’m just saying…
Daniel – after you’ve taken 75,000 shots and your shutter doesn’t go bad, then I might think of going Nikon. LOL.
Colleen – will have to think about the D300s. Might be able to make that happen in a few months with side website projects. Thanks for the recommendation.
haha… Yeah I would totally take the Nikon again, Ive had Canon’s all my adult life, and will never buy another one
