Shrinking slug
Took the tripod with me this evening, so I could get close-up without shaking at all. Looked down and saw what appeared to be over an inch streak of slimy mud on a leaf. Looked closer and I saw the mud shrinking when I touched the leaf. I was blown away watching this slug shrink up to less than 1/2″ long, guessing it was protecting itself. Hello to my new friends that I met on the trail!

That’s funny, we were watching a slug do the exact same thing this morning! Very cool picture.

You know… I read the title of this photo on Twitter and my first thought was along the lines of “It’s not very Christian to pour salt on slugs… then post pictures of it on the internet!”. Your description makes more sense, lol. Awesome capture!
